WMKV 89.3 FM is member-supported public radio serving Greater Cincinnati and also Butler and Warren Counties on 89.9 FM WLHS. Founded in 1995, WMKV has been a national leader in big bands, the Great American Songbook, standards, classic radio comedies and dramas, and oldies, plus important information and weather from Local 12 News! We stream worldwide as a free service and provide radio companionship to listeners of all ages all over the world! Our studios are at Maple Knoll Village in Springdale, Ohio and we strive to be your one-stop for the Golden Age of Radio and music.

History

May 16, 1995, WMKV 89.3 FM is Born. The nation’s only public radio station housed in a retirement facility and targeting older adults, crackled onto the airwaves. WMKV has garnered many honors, some national and international, including Innovation of the Year from our state association, Leading Age Ohio (formerly the Association of Ohio Philanthropic Homes for the Aging) and our national association, the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. WMKV resides on Main Street at Maple Knoll Village and in 2013 acquired 89.9 FM to help continue their mission which is to bring good music and good information to our listeners, their families and their caregivers.
